Travel tattoo's

"To live would be an awfully big adventure"

The above quote is adapted from J M Barrie's Peter Pan "to die would be an awfully big adventure" and I recently had it tattooed on my arm.

I don't know anyone who doesn't love the Peter Pan story, the idea of never having to grow up, with no worries or stress, and to be able to fly obviously. Steven Spielberg's Hook was on a constant loop in my house (those mermaids and that food fight...dreamy), so I knew that I would eventually get a tattoo on this theme.

This post was first written in 2012 when I got this tattoo, and I'm re-writing the post in 2014 as I wasn't happy with the photos or the text. The same could be said for the tattoo. Looking back I can see that I probably shouldn't have had the font so slant-y and small as over time as my skin changes or the ink blurs it could become more difficult to read. I would have learnt from this though as with my next tattoo's I will have them designed with my future body in mind so they look good for as long as possible. Although I think when I am old and wrinkly I will have more important things to worry about than my outdated and uncool tattoo's. To me they will just be a blue/green tinged memory.

To get back on track, I was writing this post to show the travel tattoo inspiration I found for my next one. These are a few of my favourites.
